Front Suspension, continued

Evening Folks,

I spent a little time on the front suspension this afternoon.  The upper 'A' arm is installed and in the first picture the upright is installed, see anything wrong?  ;-)
The new sway bar bushings are in as well and the linkage is hooked up.

While it may not be immediately apparent, the brake caliper needs to be moved back in position to it location behind the wheel and the line needs to run between the control arms so the upper 'A' arm was released and the caliper put in temporary position till I get the new wheel bearings so I can install the hub.  Once the hub is in place I can install and safety wire the caliper bolts.

That's it for today, cleaned the back of the console in anticipation of installing the handbrake gator.

Cheers,
Lynn

PS:  I went back and removed the nyloc's that Drew mentioned were not long enough, turns out they had thick washers under each end effectively making the bolts too short.  Don't think the washers were OEM....

  1. Looks good, Lynn. The suspension looks pretty clean with no rust. Nice. Right, I don't think the frame bolts have any washers installed although I didn't double check the parts manual.
