Front suspension

Hi Everyone,

David and Drew, thanks for your comments on the last blog, I may just plug them with 'dum-dum', I thought about just putting some screws back in the holes or even pop rivets and then dum-dum afterwards.  I kinda like that idea so will see, stay tuned and thanks for the advice.

Today I spent the afternoon cleaning and installing components on the passenger side. One thing that's not real obvious is that I went back and removed a lot of washers and where necessary installed longer bolts so that the Nyloc Nuts are 'engaged' on the bolts.

Working on the upright, new ball joint installed, sorry if this is a repeat but not a lot of info today ;-)

Washers removed and new bolts all treated with loctite too

Upper control are installed, new bushings in the sway bar, ready to install the lower control arm and get this little car back down on the ground!

Got the bearings and seals for the front wheels, will get those installed in the hubs and then....

That's it for today,

Cheers,
Lynn

  1. IMO, those holes in the frame must be sealed because of their location. They will be subject to possible water intrusion and that is best kept away from the frame rail innards. Dum-dum should do the trick, but Chuck should keep an eye and make sure it stays intact.

Not that it matters much at all, but what grease are you using on the wheel bearings?
